Whether you run a large company, a small business, or a personal brand, we’ve chosen to offer our clients two options: buy a website outright, as has been the norm, or rent one from us. Below we look at the pros and cons of each.
Buying a website
Buying a website is the traditional way to get online: we build it, and you own it afterwards. This approach allows a solution tailored to the client’s needs. It’s a good fit when your brand's site needs bespoke work and more original functionality. Depending on scope and functionality, our prices typically range from 800 to 10,000 euros. Why such a wide range? The main difference often lies not in what the visitor sees, but under the hood. For larger projects, a significant share of time goes into security testing, performance optimisation under load, and integrating various external systems.
When buying a website, you should also factor in future development costs. The digital world evolves quickly, and for your site to stay fast, secure and reliable, it needs regular technical maintenance.
Renting a website
Spetsy started with a simple sell-only model, but we’ve seen that many companies or individuals don’t want to make such a large upfront investment. Reasons vary: an early-stage or experimental business that is just getting started, a wish to have monthly maintenance and hosting included (which we provide with the rental), or something else. Renting helps keep initial costs low and spreads the budget over a longer period. Renting suits those who want a simple site that works like a business card and holds a few pages with the key information. With rental we include monthly content updates and hosting. Our rental price is 89€ per month. See more at spetsymarketing.com/website.
How does the rental process work? If you’re interested, we send you ready-made designs to choose from. Those designs aren’t set in stone either - we can adjust them to your content and preferences.
Unlike with a purchase, we own the website (it’s also physically hosted by us), and if the client decides to stop renting, the site remains with us.
